Solid State and Beyond

Not all of our power amplifiers are solid state; some are hybrid designs using a low power solid-state amplifier to drive a high power valve final stage. This has the advantage of enabling the benefits of crystal control and 50W matching techniques to be used at much higher output powers. We are currently working on new high frequency designs and will be offering new 15, 20 and 25kW units operating at 27.12 or 40.68MHz specifically for the industrial market in the very near future. We have existing 15, 25, 50 and 100kW units operating at a maximum frequency of 27.12MHz and are investigating 150 and 200kW versions.

Our hybrid amplifiers are designed to utilise either hi mu triodes or tetrodes as appropriate to the applications. This technique permits us to use a relatively low power solid-state amplifier as a drive stage for a single tube amplifier stage allowing up to 40kW output power from a compact 19" rack cabinet, for outputs above 50kW a 24" and 19" rack bay are required.

We also design and manufacture the more familiar tube oscillators for low tech applications.
